Heritage Days Event Weekend Volunteer Team Opportunities
September 9, 10 and 11, 2022

As the new and improved Heritage Days weekend gets bigger and activities around the Wills Creek Muster grow in scope and quality, volunteering for the event under the guidance of our Allegany County Historical Society event committee is becoming both more important and more fun.

In the form below, please share your contact info for getting involved in any of the following volunteer teams.  A bag lunch, free drinks, a free staff t-shirt and a great community experience come with the deal!  Who says community service can’t be fun!


Looking for folk who can enjoy being our 2022 “Boots on the ground” assist in the placement of various equipment and amenities including chairs, tents, power access, benches, directional signs and trash can and assisting vendors in finding their assigned spaces at the beginning of this year’s festival. Perfect gig for community groups and service organization support.

This is our key customers relations and info center on Prospect Square. Seated work under pop-up tent at the corner of Cherry Alley and Washington Street. This is a seating job under a tent working with and for our event coordinators. Teams of mobile workers will also be needed to distribute event programs.

The ultimate backstage view of Heritage Days 2022! Tasks include helping with Pack Your Wagon, selling ACHS Merchandise, organizing volunteer lunch deliveries, bussing and bartending at Josiah’s Tavern and potentially help to give Gordon Roberts House Tours

If working with children is your specialty, we have a very special opportunity at the Gordon Roberts House, assisting families and kids as they enjoy a unique hands-on activity at Heritage Days. It’s a real ½ scale Prairie Schooner wagon and the needed settler supplies to pack it. Can you pick the right stuff to get to Oregon??????

Have some performing or announcing experience? Tasks include providing informative day-long announcing between music acts and coordinating performance as well as stage and sound coordination.

Hang with the superstars of the 18th Century! Tasks will include movements and hospitality needs of historic actors.

Working here will put you at Ground Zero in the Wills Creek Muster! Tasks may include coordinating presentation and announcing for Living History Town Halls and accountable distribution of event day checks.

Our showcase annual activity! Tasks will include coordination of Washington’s Review of the Troops, the March to Downtown and set up and tear down of reenactor dinner set up. PS, you can eat dinner with us!
